Urban Myth?
The Washington Biological Survey used to tag birds
with a numbered, addressed tag and (in larger letters) its abbreviated
name, WASH. BIOL. SURV., for return should the bird be caught.
A tag was returned with a letter : 'Dear Sir,
I found one of your birds, I think it was a crow, and followed the instructions.
It tasted terrible.'
(This one has been going the rounds
for some time. It originated in the 1940's) |
